Rune-ShamanismPart 1 Shamanism has been with us for a very long time. The Native Americans have Shamans; the Aborigines of Australia down under have Shamans; there are Tibetan Shamans, Eskimo Shamans; Lapp Shamans, etc. They are all still practicing today. The question you must ask yourself now is this, what do you, a 21st Century, Western man/woman, living in a city, have in common with these practicing Shamans, or even the Shamans of the past? Rune-Shamanism The Shamans of old were known to live off by themselves "separate" and apart from the group or tribe. This component, I believe is just as important today as it was in the past. These have become very difficult times. And it is said, "When mass man rules, wise man hides." I believe that Shamans always knew that a major component of raising ones level of spirituality and consciousness was to live separate and apart from the "masses." To get oneself quiet from the everyday hustle and bustle. For myself, I have very little in common with them, except that I do live a quiet life with my family, somewhat cloistered away, in the boonies of thePocono Mountains. I enjoy reading and studying about Shamans. But I would not and do not practice their ancient Shamanic methods or techniques. I do not wish to live again as the Vikings did. I would like to rebuild all the old customs by adapting them to the 21st century paradigm of the Laws of Quantum Physics. Why? The only constant in the whole Universe is change. Everything is doing either one of two things, it is changing becoming more evolved or devolved. Rune-Shamanism To evolve means to move ahead, along the path, towards a higher consciousness and individualization. To devolve means to move back on the path, of becoming less conscious and melding once again with the "mass minded." Although the Shamans try to be individuals they are using tools that belong to an age that is from the past. This Age is called the Age of Pisces. We as a race and even our whole Solar System is moving forward into the Age of Aquarius. This is not just a play on words. Our Solar System, which rotates around a galactic Sun, is in a different space in the Galaxy, than it has been before. Rune-Shamanism Modern day Shamans need to stay ahead with these new energies. This new place in space will produce new energy, new ideas, new structures and new forms. To be a 21st Century Rune Shaman, you must embrace these energies, ideas and structures. And let go of the old Shamanic Methodologies. We have just started this 2000 year trip through this part of the Galaxy. We already have three great ideas and structures from this 'Age of Aquarius.' We have the Internet (for information), Radionics (for a power source), and the Laws of Quantum Physics for methodology and working principles. rUNE-sHAMANISM The modern day Shaman needs to use these tools and get rid of the bones, animal skins, painted faces, chants and rants. They worked well for the old Shaman, the tribal Shamans who had a direct Resonant Frequency link to these tools and their own people. But, you and I have grown out of that language. We do not need to practice their Shamanic Rituals and build a Resonant Frequency with them. Rune-Shamanism Danger!: The danger in practicing tribal Shamanic Rituals is that the Resonant Frequencies you build will actually connect the energies of that Shaman with you. Do you really want the energy, mindset and motives of a Native American, Lapp, or Aborigine Shaman in your Aura? Do you want them squatting on your floor performing their incantations? Do you want their spirit animals racing around your living room? Do you want them inside you? I don't . They belong to the past and to small tribal groups of people, of which I do not belong. We have outgrown them and must move on. Rune-Shamanism I am surprised to see so many sites and books on the net discussing Shamanism and how to practice it. Where are the sites and books that tell of the downsides and dangers of obsession and possession by these powerful shamans? Before I get into the "How to", the practice of Rune Shamanism for the 21st Century Asatru Pagan, let us look at what tribal Shamans do. Rune-Shamanism The Norse Shamanism was called Seider and it was mostly practiced by women called the Volver. They were also called Seid Women, wise women. They often went into trances, calling upon the spirits and Gods of other worlds. They revered and derived much of their power from horse's, particularly phallic symbols and cats. The term "Night Mare," comes from this practice.The Seid Women would astral travel through peoples dreams on a horse or "Mare." That was all well an good. But is it for you? Trances, Astral travel, and opening yourself up to other world spirits can be dangerous. The astral world exists and cen be very dangerous if you are not careful. Ancient and modern day Shamans worked the weather, affected people's minds, went on spirit journeys, caused storms at sea, shape-changed, wore bear-skin robes, went into trances and created totem animals. Why would you a 21st Century Asatru Pagan want to do any of the above? The Age of Aquarius is the individual way. Once we have thousands of Asatru Pagans taking care of themselves (individually) and their families we will have a better society made up of healthy, happy, protective family groups. Shaman means 'One who Knows'. The key words of the Age of Aquarius is "I know." Modern 21st Century Rune Shamans will know how to use Runes, Mental Radionics, Laws of Quantum Physics to help themselves and their families. And they can learn to do it from the peace and safety of their own homes. This is only the introductory article on Rune Shamanism. The "How To," will follow. Together we can use Rune Shamanism to strengthen our Ancestral Soul.
